2014 Motor Trend Auto Show – Baltimore

By  |

The Motor Trend International Auto Show (Baltimore) came to town on February 6 through the 10th with a wide-open floor-plan of manufacturer cars and trucks as well as a custom car / truck showcase.’s, Jeff and Jen C. were more involved this year as they displayed their full custom ’03 Toyota Corolla, displayed with Absolute Pro-formance in the OC Car Show section of the event.

Jeff C. – It was a refreshing change of pace this year, from attending the event on Thursday morning getting photo coverage, previous years, to actually being involved directly with the show to help promote OC Car Show, Absolute Pro-formance, as well as

Spending Wednesday afternoon scoping out the layout and Thursday getting photo coverage, this years event felt more wide open, a better layout than the previous years, in my opinion. With the threat of bad weather there was a worry that folks will not be able to attend, but we managed to pull together a great event from the custom side of the house.

In attendance in the OC Car Show Custom Showcase were: Absolute Pro-formance, Elite Importz, East Coast Minis, Cali Style, Insane Car Audio and Road Magnet.

The Dupont Registry had an awesome selection of rides, including the amazing Lamborghini Aventador. Some of our favorite manufacturer cars were the Subaru’s WRX, Dodge Viper, Corvette C7 Stingray, and the 2015 Ford Mustang. There was a constant flow of people moving through the manufacturer area and definitely were interested in the custom showcase areas.

Some items to note: I was trolling through the social media sites, people were complaining about no celebrities being in attendance. I feel the extra entertainment is a nice added bonus, but if you are not in the market to purchase a car or a gear head, to attend the show for only the celebrity, you can stay home 🙂

The concession areas definitely needed more seating. People were sitting on the floor eating lunch up and down the corridor where the food stands are. More tables and chairs would’ve been nice.

The Chrysler Drive: The Chrysler Drive is your chance to drive and evaluate the latest models from Chrysler, Jeep®, Dodge, Ram and FIAT at the Motor Trend International Auto Show – Baltimore.  It’s a no-pressure, no-hassle opportunity.  And there’s no additional charge!  Drivers must be at least 18 years or older, show a valid driver’s license and pass a breathalyzer.  Passengers must be at least 8-years-old.

Chevrolet, Buick, and GMC – The Drive: Get Behind the Wheel and enjoy The Drive.  Test drive award-winning cars, trucks and crossovers from Chevrolet, Buick and GMC – a lineup that includes the all-new Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra full-size pickups, the all-new Chevy Impala and many more stylish, exciting and fuel-efficient vehicles, such as the Buick Encore.  The Drive features highly-trained and enthusiastic product specialists who will accompany you on a route that takes you around the convention center.  Drivers must be at least 18 and show a valid driver’s license and passengers must be at least 8-years-old.

Cadillac: Auto show attendees will have a chance to sit behind the wheel and get a real feel for the performance and handling of several vehicles from Cadillac. Drivers must be at least 18 and show a valid driver’s license and passengers must be at least 8-years-old.

Explore the Cars of Tomorrow! – Check out the pre-production models that are sure to steal the spotlight at this year’s show.  These vehicles provide a glimpse of what is around the corner in automotive design and technology. Pre-production models are subject to change and are displayed at the sole discretion of the manufacturer: 2015 Chevrolet Silverado HD, 2015 Cadillac Escalade, 2015 GMC Yukon, 2015 Ford Mustang, 2015 Ford F-150, 2015 Ford Super Duty

For family day Marvel had a couple of super hero characters on-site to greet the kids. Overall, our team had a great time. I think for the target market and despite the reports of bad weather the show was a great success.

Here our some of our favorite shots from the event. To check out our full photo coverage visit:

Corvette C7 Stingray looked awesome in red!

Motor Trend Auto Show - 2015 Ford Mustang

2015 Ford Mustang has received mixed reviews. I think in time with the right aftermarket styling parts and performance parts people will flock. Give it time!! In person, I think it looked nice!!
