Car Show Articles and Reviews

Hyperfest 2014 Summit Point Raceway, West Virginia

Hyperfest 2014 continues to set the standard for the automotive / car show industry by bringing in the top vendors, sponsors, and most importantly the entertainment for the spectators. If you’ve been in the car scene for awhile, you pretty much have seen it all, it’s getting harder and harder to continue to entertain the “old guys”. There were no shortages in entertainment and there’s no doubt that Hyperfest will continue to deliver and set the standard for years to come.

My primary mission in attending Hyperfest this year was to shoot some photos for my good friend Shawn Setherly of SS Designs (Facebook: of his Road Race Motorsports sponsored Fiat Abarth 500 that ripped around the track for the Hyperdrive event.

Now we know what you’re thinking, why a Fiat? Well, for one, this car is bad ass and fun to drive, two, when you see this car on the track and you are secure in your manhood, you will want one too! Passing a Lotus, tracking a Boss 302 Mustang and the Mini didn’t stand a chance. A very impressive car and did I mention fun?!

Arriving at the track bright and early there seemed to be some confusion, looking for media passes and trying to figure out where to go for the Hyperdrive registration and tech. After getting through the confusion everything there on out went pretty smoothly. My name was on the access list and Shawn made tech in time with a minute to spare. The track officials were all very friendly and the overall vibe of the event was very positive, it was going to be a great day!

There were many events scheduled throughout the day, below I am going to cover the events I experienced. For additional information about the Hyperfest show, visit:

The Hyperdrive experience allows drivers who are at least 18 years of age participate in a road course typically held on the Jefferson Circuit at Summit Point. Every car must pass a basic technical inspection, attend a 15-20 minute drivers / safety class and are accompanied by an experienced driving instructor who rides shotgun. Car Show

Over 200 show cars stacked the lots with a variety of rides and themes to check out. There were some mint cars in attendance, flawless body work, paint, and wheel fitment, very impressive. The crowd flowed pretty smoothly, it was not overly congested, you actually had room to breath and an opportunity to check out the detailed amount of work these cars boasted.

Tandem Drifing Ride Alongs

I had the awesome opportunity to see Chris Forsberg’s car getting unloaded from the NOS trailer along with Vaughn Gittin Jr. getting ready to whip around the track for a practice run.
