Collision Industry Foundation Announces Fund Established for COVID-19 Victims

The Collision Industry Foundation (CIF) has announced the formation of a specific fund to assist those within the industry impacted by the Coronavirus, or COVID-19. On behalf of the industry, CIF has committed to initially fund $100,000 in assistance to help individual collision-repair professionals and their immediate families dealing with the effects of the virus.

“Our hearts go out to all those impacted by this worldwide pandemic,” expressed Michael Quinn, CIF board president and senior vice president of business development at AirPro Diagnostics. “The CIF is prepared to step forward with an initial commitment of $100,000 and encourages all stakeholders in the industry to contribute and support collision-repair employees, technicians and their families in the face of this crisis. The manufacturing industry is already facing a skilled labor shortage, and the onset of the COVID-19 crisis has presented an additional challenge for educational institutions, temporarily closing schools across the nation and interrupting face-to-face learning. All online materials are produced and supplied by the coalition partners with the majority being available at no charge for the next 30 days. The goal is to help career and technical education faculty and students continue their teaching and learning in a new virtual environment as quickly as possible. Coalition partners are also providing recorded sessions with CTE instructors highlighting best practices in how to effectively utilize eLearning and online resources to educate students and quickly transition to a virtual learning environment.
