Carlisle Ford Nationals 2022
Carlisle Ford Nationals 2022, the largest car show event EVER hosted by Carlisle Events, took place on June 3-5, 2022. It took almost 20 years, but Ford Nationals now holds the Carlisle event record for the most registered show vehicles with over 3400 Ford branded and Ford powered vehicles. The high attendance was fueled by a great lineup of activities and nothing but sunny skies all weekend.
Ford was on-hand showing off their latest creations including the new “triple white” Mustang. Starting with an Oxford White Mustang, Ford added several white elements including all white badging, white wheels with brushed faces, a white spoiler from their performance pack series, and white inserts in the taillights. On the inside, a special honeycomb finish was applied to the dash while white inserts were added to the seats and door panels. Ford expects to make about 1500 units in this configuration.
Shelby American was also a major contributor, celebrating their 60th anniversary. In addition to showing off Super Snake varieties of Mustangs and trucks, Shelby American brought their take on the Mach-E. To help them celebrate their 60th anniversary, Shelby debuted a Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe concept car sporting a 427 SOHC V8.
If you came to this show, it was hard to find time to sit down. Out on the autocross track, spectators could take a ride along with a professional driver or put their own car on the track and compete in the autocross shootout. The autocross track was also home to the rolling burnout and donut competition, and the rolling exhaust competition. Next door to the track, visitors could take rides on the Virginia Giant monster truck.
The main attraction is of course the 3400 cars and trucks on display. While cruising the show field, there are several clubs with fun themed tents. Venom Invasion took home the banner for coolest club with their way over the top pirate themed adventure.
In typical Carlisle fashion, plenty of vendors were on hand. Looking for new parts? Check. Looking for vintage used parts? Check. Ford and general car collectibles? Check. Cars for sale or local food vendors? Check and check.
Outside of the typical show hours, on Friday evening STANG Magazine hosted a free concert with rock cover band Ten Ton Stone. On Saturday evening, 300 vehicles invaded downtown Carlisle for the annual parade and street party.
