deadmau5 – Interesting Couple of Weeks with Ferrari and Nissan
Joel Thomas Zimmerman, better known by his stage name deadmau5, is a Canadian progressive-house music producer and performer from Toronto, Ontario. If you don’t know him by now, you surely do from the media blitz he has received over the past few weeks and we can thank Ferrari for kicking off the entertainment. The Deadmau5’s 458 Italia Ferrari, dubbed “Purrari” (seen below) took on some heat from Ferrari because of the supposed custom badges and floor mats.
The cease and desist to have the custom emblems removed doesn’t matter anymore as the wrap was removed and the car is up for sale. The 458 has been replaced with a McLaren 650S Spider. BUT, Mr. Zimmerman may be adding a Nissan GT-R to the mix, check out the Tweet Nissan sent out today, below…
I wonder if the jackass lawyer at @FerrariUSA who sent us a "cease and desist" letter over the purrari is un-butthurt now that I unwrapped.

Now, to top off all of the entertainment, Nissan jumped on board and sent out this Tweet today…
A perfect opportunity to show their fun sense of humor and of course to jump into the spot light, I’m not mad! Retweets are currently up to 2,974 and Favorited 2,525 times is sure did get some attention. Although a Nissan GT-R doesn’t need to seek attention as it already gets enough as it is.
Here is a view of the Purrari badges:
