Radwood 2 Presented by Jalopnik in Anaheim, California

Radwood 2 – A new beginning out on the West Coast: I’ve been out on the west-side of the country for a year now. I’ve experienced many wonderful adventures and events since traveling 2400 miles away from what I’m used to. I came to Arizona with a decade old Kia and two ratty motorcycles. Now I drive a 15-year-old Toyota SUV and don’t own anything else. What I’m trying to say is that I’ve learned a lot since being out here.

One of things I’ve learned is that western society is very comfortable doing whatever they enjoy. It’s a really refreshing thing to experience. I’ve recently discovered an event and this is probably the most excited I’ve been for a show, EVER. I mean, my level of excitement for some of the events I’ve been to in the past was pretty high. To say that I’m totally ready to kick it old school would be an immense understatement.

That’s where Radwood 2 comes in. It is, in the words of the organizers, “the premiere automotive festival of its kind”. Based around the idea that in 2016, there were no events to specifically celebrate vehicles from the 80’s and 90’s, the podcast hosts of Driving While Awesome!, The Cammed & Tubbed Podcast, and the Clutchkick Podcast decided that they were going to be the ones to create an event that did just that. So, in June of last year, they put on a show called Radwood and wouldn’t you know it, It was a success! Geared towards any car built between January 1, 1980 and December 31, 1999, Radwood 2 is bringing back everything you loved (and maybe hated) about the coolest, oddest, and most loveable era of automotive glory!

Radwood 2 will be held at The Phoenix Club of Anaheim, California on December 2nd. The show will run from 11am-5pm and get this; if you’re going, you need to be in period-correct attire! This is where the excitement level hits upper-atmosphere levels for me. Basically, what they’re saying is, I get to enjoy everything I loved as a kid, but I get to do it as an adult. I’m thinking Zubaz pants, white tee with a neon wind breaker, and an equally neon upside-down visor. What I need to pull it all together are some FUBU high tops. Like really friggin’ high!

Vehicle entry to the show is either $25 or $50, depending on whether you decide to become #RadwoodRoyalty or not, and spectator tickets are $10. The organizers have promised “period-appropriate entertainment” throughout the day (are they bringing in Carson Daly to host a special episode of TRL?!?!). Radwood 2 organizers stated in a press release “We’ve proved that people are excited for the enthusiast cars of the 80s and 90s, and we want to help spread that love. Most car enthusiasts have written off this era of cars as ugly or uninspiring, but we know better than all that. This is an era of automotive history worthy of celebration…” and if that’s not the truest statement ever released, then I’m not a Millennial. Oh man, did I really forget to mention that Jalopnik has also hopped on board this year to help put on the show?!? They’ve joined forces with this year’s organizers to put on an auto show that will like, totally blow your mind, dude!!! For more information you can check out the website at https://www.radwood.co/

I’ll be out there getting coverage and looking BOSS!!! You should absolutely come out too!
