The CarShowz.com Choice Award presented at the Lone Star Throwdown 2024 event went to this bad a$$ 1969 Lincoln Continental beast! Owner Daniel Wojdyla, better known as @masters824 on Instagram brought the Conti out to LST last year and it was about 20% complete. The windows were blacked out, with two turbos and massive engine peeking out from the engine bay and being laid out, it looked sinister.
Little did we know at the time that the Lincoln was not even close to being completed. I assumed Masters was out partying in Houston and just didn’t open the car up for the weekend of the ’23 LST event… haha but the car was not fully built yet!
After following the build through 2023 and into 2024, I reached out to see if Masters was heading to Lone Star Throwdown 2024 and indeed, he was. I already knew the build and already knew I wanted this ’69 to be our CarShowz.com choice award, even before the show kicked off.
I ran into Masters and his crew Saturday morning and wanted to make sure he was present for the awards ceremony, and he said he was definitely staying around. I gave him a heads up that we selected him for our choice award and as most folks do when they get a Philbuilt creation, the crew lit up and were happy. I’m sure this build has been a long journey, as any build is of this magnitude. It is well deserved, and Masters and his crew are humble, which makes the choice even more rewarding for us.
I was not in attendance for the awards ceremony, the awards builder Phil Cholette did the honors and personally handed the award to Daniel for CarShowz Choice. The awards are a nice chunk of billet designed and machined by Philbuilt and weigh in at about 15lbs.
With the new engine setup, the car will be laying down 2000hp. It already sounds insane, and I cannot imagine this boat floating down the street.
