Houston Autorama is Ending
While the overarching championship series parent company, Championship Auto Shows (Autorama.com), has updated its tour schedules to list the Houston dates indefinitely as “TBA”, local show chairs and community pillars have directly verified the closure, marking the end of an era for the Texas indoor custom car show tradition.1
Autorama events represent the highest tier of indoor custom car showcases in North America. Organized primarily by Championship Auto Shows Incorporated (CASI)—often under the dual banners of Autorama and World of Wheels—these multi-day expositions have been celebrating car culture, innovative workmanship, and vehicle restoration for over 70 years.
Unlike standard commercial auto shows that serve as manufacturer showcases for new factory models, Autorama is custom-vehicle centric. Builders bring hot rods, custom builds, muscle cars, chopped trucks, lowriders, and high-end concept vehicles to compete for historic automotive design titles.
Houston Autorama is Ending – But the Show Goes On
As the Houston leg of Autorama wraps up, the 2027 Autorama car show dates have been announced for Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Sandy, Detroit, Kansas City, Rosemont, Omaha, Indianapolis, and several Canadian cities.
