992 GT3 Competition Car Global Motorsports

992 GT3 Competition Car – North America’s premier high-performance European automotive and racing specialist, Global Motorsports Group, is proud to introduce the new track-ready custom 992 GT3 with improvements including the exhaust, suspension, chassis, safety, and bodywork. For more than twenty years, Global Motorsports Group has built a reputation for winning at the racetrack by working closely with clients serious about creating one-of-a-kind Porsche competition cars. For Porsche enthusiasts with sincere racing aspirations, Global Motorsports Group engineers exotics such as the company’s new 992 GT3, training clients at their elite racing facility and proving grounds at the Thermal Club before signing them to compete professionally.

“At Global Motorsports Group, no car that we make is exactly the same. We take the time to sit down and interview clients extensively to see what is best for them,” comments Global Motorsports Group President James Sofronas. “If the client wants a full competition car, we go out and drive with them at our Thermal Club track facility to engineer the car around them. Our new Global Motorsports Group 992 GT3 is a perfect example. Every detail of that Porsche is made to fit the driver’s individual driving style.”

Continuing to build on their previous racing success with the GT3 and GT3 RS by pushing the envelope with their new 992 GT3 Competition Car, Global Motorsports Group is one of the few shops in North America that engineers and manufactures performance parts while also racing professionally. The Southern Californian company currently fields up to 16 competition cars in elite series such as SRO Motorsports America (formerly Pirelli World Challenge), GT World Challenge America (GT2, GT3, GT4 classes), and IMSA where clients compete in legendary races such as the 24 Hours of Daytona and 12 Hours of Sebring.

Engineered using the knowledge gained from decades of racing Porsche, the new Global Motorsports Group 992 GT3 retains the original spirit of the car while upgrading key aspects for racing. The 992 GT3 Bilstein adjustable coil-over suspension is highlighted by Global Motorsports Group’s exclusive Competition Alignment. The added stiffness provides greater stability, allowing for more aggressive acceleration out of corners. The result is the promise of earlier throttle application allowing for strong runs looking through to the next straightaway.

Employing 3D scanning and the company’s proprietary product engineering formula, Global Motorsports Group developed direct replacements for the factory 992 GT3 exhaust with no modification required. By deleting the 992 GT3’s center muffler, the special WC-Sport Valved Exhaust System weighs in at only 16.2 lbs. and lightens the 992 GT3 curb weight by 20 lbs. by utilizing T304 stainless steel tubing. The weight loss the system offers is complemented with more low-end torque and horsepower to spring out of corners. Recreating Global Motorsports Group’s signature exhaust note and sound, the company’s 992 GT3 WC-Sport Exhaust System is 100% emissions legal.

Global Motorsports also offers the WC-Evo Race Exhaust for the 992 GT3 marked by a full valved system highlighted by Equal Length Long Tube Headers using T304 stainless steel that is exactingly TIG-welded to aerospace specifications. GMG successfully shaved off 24 lbs. from the original OEM system with significant performance gains across the power curve, particularly within the 4,300 – 4,600 rpm range.

A lightweight protective roll bar for the Global Motorsports Group 992 GT3 made of 4130 Chromoly tubing simultaneously increases chassis rigidity while again reducing overall weight. Each bar is precisely TIG-welded within the race car and the 4-point WEC design comes together in an X-braced main hoop with rearward extending arms and a diagonal bar. Front bars are bolted down directly to a structural cross member as the rear arms are anchored to the rear shock towers.

A special AP Racing brake system includes calipers, rotors, and racing brake pads that deliver incredible stopping power made for high speed racing conditions. Global Motorsports Group offers 394 mm steel pads or 403 mm carbon ceramics. Both high-performance racing brake options are too large for the factory wheels, so Global Motorsports carefully engineered the AP Braking system to precisely accommodate the beefier (insert fitment) Pirelli racing slicks and AP Braking race system for significantly enhanced handling and stopping power. The Global Motorsports Group 992 GT3 wears a set of high-performance Forgeline 19-inch wheels.

The new Global Motorsports Group 992 GT3 includes a WC Rear Control Arm Set manufactured in aerospace grade 6061 aluminum. The strong, lightweight parts are hard anodized for corrosion resistance and feature spherical bushings for further overall vehicle rigidity of the rear suspension mounts. The result is further optimized rear stability in the 992 GT3 and better responsiveness during hard braking, fast acceleration, and razor sharp cornering under higher G-loads. The GMG carbon wind diffusers are designed to stop the wind buffeting inside the car when driving with the windows down, which is required at most tracks.

“Competition cars aren’t for everyone. But, for the clients who do want to track their car, Global Motorsports Group offers decades of engineering data and expertise winning races and championships with Porsche. That racing expertise also transfers across to our street cars,” comments Global Motorsports Manager Allen Ward. “At Global Motorsports Group, we know how to set up the car safely, and we don’t cut corners on materials or workmanship. Everything we do from training drivers to manufacturing is carefully planned out. Global Motorsports Group isn’t the cheapest game in town, but we absolutely are the best in terms of quality and customer service.”

Exclusive parts manufacturing alongside coaching and training are just some of the many advantages of clients employing Global Motorsports Group. The company offers a comprehensive suite of factory approved services across a wide array of super-premium OEM automotive brands, including Porsche, McLaren, Lamborghini, and Ferrari. Global Motorsports Group’s high-performance track expertise carries over into their exclusive engine tuning for the street across a variety of marques. Global Motorsports Group provides clients with everything from custom manufactured wheels, tires, visual upgrades, PPF window tint, and much more. Made with precision design and engineering, the Global Motorsports Group 992 GT3 starting price is $206,100, including the vehicle price and all GMG performance upgrades.
