Lone Star Throwdown 2022 is just around the corner, kicking off the 3-day show in Conroe, Texas, just an hour north of Houston. The Lone Star Expo Center hosts the LST event with over 2,361 vehicles, 144 vendors and over 25,000 spectators during this weekend. With over 80 staff members setting up, working ticket booths, police, vendor assistance and breakdown, this event is overall a huge operation.
GrinderTV just published a “behind the show” video interviewing Owners Lonnie and Christel Ford and Todd “Radar” Hendrex. The video gives a glimpse into how LST came about, some show coverage from 2021 as well as some behind the scenes coverage of set-up and break down.
One of the highlights of the video is also discussing the prestigious awards created by PHILBUILTDESIGNS. The LST team discuss how they found Phil and the evolution of the trophies over the years, engineering and time put into the design. The awards are truly one-of-a-kind.
PHILBUILTDESIGNS custom engineered awards for Lone Star Throwdown.
Lone Star Throwdown 2022
This will be CarShowz 5th year heading out to LST. Our first trip was in 2017, unfortunately I got the ‘vid in 2021, so we are definitely looking forward to heading out this year, 2022. I reached out to Lonnie back in 2013 to see what it would cost to be a sponsor. ’13 was the second year for the show and it gained traction very fast with major title sponsors onboard and as you can see from the show statistics above, the show is insane. People literally travel from all around the world to come to this show to see SEMA quality builds as well as the youth up-and-coming builders who will be the future of the show scene. It’s a great family friendly balanced event.
