Philadelphia Auto Show 2018

By  |

It’s that time of year again. Time to start off the car show season with a trip to the Philadelphia Auto Show. Once again I was lucky enough to be invited back for Media Preview Day to check out the latest and greatest in the Automotive World. This show never ceases to amaze me. There were more Exotics than I recall from past years as well as a large showing of new offerings from the major manufacturers. It is rare that I can go to a show like this and not have an instant favorite but this was the exception to the rule. There were over 700 vehicles from over 40 manufactures to choose from. Add to that the amazing exotics brought in by CF Charities Supercar Show and F.C. Kerbeck as well as all of the privately owned show cars and it makes for one awesome event. The Philadelphia Auto show is open to the public from January 27 – February 4, 2018 and is well worth the trip if you are in the tri-state area.Tickets are available online and at the show as well as many local car dealers.

As in past years the Philadelphia Auto Show kicked off with the “Black Tie Tailgate” which is held the night before the show opens. This is a great opportunity to browse the displays and dance among them. There is live music and food from local hot spots. Proceeds from the event benefit the Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania. Throughout the week the are various activities the whole family can enjoy as well as Meet and Greets with Celebrities. The standout event for me was Camp Jeep where you can ride as a passenger over an obstacle course that shows off the Jeep’s capabilities. They do have food vendors and other items for sale as well as ample rest rooms.

From an early age my parents used to take me to car shows and a few automotive museums and that is where I got the car bug. Ever since then I have had mainly cars that were more go than show until 2008 when I bought my 2005 Silverado. I started showing the truck and soon after started taking pictures at the shows. In early 2012 I put a call out asking if any sites needed a photographer and here I am, A proud member of the Carshowz family.
