Spring Car Show and Flea Market hosted by Rotary Club of Salisbury-Sunrise and Eastern Shore Region AACA in Salisbury, MD. on April 23, 2016. Kevin Cunningham stopped by to check out the event and here is what he had to say:
I caught wind of a small car show from one of my friends on an overcast Saturday morning. It was forecasted to rain all day so I wasn’t sure I wanted to leave the house. I got the motivation, grabbed my cameras, and headed to Dove Pointe in Salisbury, MD. I am incredibly glad I didn’t stay home! As I passed the show to find a parking spot across the street, I saw a mix of new and old. Those are the best shows for me. I understand the thought process behind shows targeting specific decades, makes, models, or types but when you bring show quality vehicles together that span more than 60 decades you can count me in. There was no high energy car show atmosphere at Dove Pointe, and that suited me perfectly. The laid back feel allowed me to take my time and admire each vehicle without feeling stressed or rushed. It took me to a time before huge car shows that have every available inch stuffed by vehicles with music blaring, lights flashing, and every imaginable electronic accessory under the sun. A time when the only goal of a meet like this was to admire the hard work and love put into each vehicle. I met some fantastic people with beautiful rides and for me it was a perfect way to spend a morning. As the trophies were awarded and people hopped in, revved up, and took off, I watched as a growling Nova took off with a very elderly, very tiny woman behind the wheel. It just reinforced the fact that this hobby has no bias and anyone who gets bit will fall in love with it. Thank you to the Rotary Club of Salisbury-Sunrise and the Eastern Shore Region AACA for hosting!
