Rexing V2 Pro Dash Cam Review

Rexing V2 Pro Dash Cam Review – I have been running the Rexing V1 for over a year now and came across the Rexing V2 Pro Dash cam. The appealing feature of the camera system is the 3-channel design, giving you the ability to record a 170 degrees front, inside the cabin and rear facing camera. The front and cabin cameras can rotate 330 degrees allowing you to position the cameras as needed.

We partnered up with our friend and homie – BIGhomie FIT-TECH on YouTube to help us out with the unboxing of the Rexing V2. The video is a bit lengthy, but there is some pretty good information in there. Check it out here…

Rexing V2 Pro Dash Cam Review Unboxing

As mentioned, I have ran the Rexing V1 dash cam in my vehicle for over a year now. What drew me to the product is the ability to be able to download the video clips directly to your phone via the Rexing phone app, compatible for both iOS and Android.

The video contains pretty much all you need to check out what’s included with the unboxing. Be sure to purchase a micro SD card to ensure you can save your video clips. Recommended cards are listed below and additional information can be found on the https://www.rexingusa.com/product/v2-pro-ai/ website.

  • Card Requirements: Class 10 / UHS-I or higher MicroSD/SDHC/SDXC memory card up to 256GB (not included).
  • Card Recommendations: Kingston Canvas Go! Plus MicroSD / Kingston Canvas React Plus MicroSD / SanDisk High Endurance MicroSD
  • NOTE: Please don’t use SanDisk Ultra cards with our cameras.
  • Please format the SD card on your camera directly.
  • 3-Channel Resolution: 1080p + 1080p + 1080p@30fps
  • Storage: 256GB microSD card max
  • Battery & Charging: Super Capacitor
  • App Control: Rexing Connect APP

The below video dives a little bit more into the installation, how I ran the wiring and gives you a couple of sample video clips of the quality. I have my dash cam settings pretty much set the default resolution and I did forget to mention it does include audio which can be toggled on and off as well.

Rexing V2 Pro Dash Cam Review & Installation

The installation of the Rexing V2 Pro dash cam is really straight forward. We touch a bit on that during the unboxing video above, but will summarize here as well.

  1. The dash cam unit itself gets mounted to the windshield by the included 3M double-sided tape adhesive and plastic plate. Double sided tape adheres to the plate, stick to the windshield and the camera hooks on to the plate nice and secure.
  2. 12V power plug included to plug into the 12V outlet (AKA cigarette lighter). An optional hard wired kit is available to hard wire the dash cam into your vehicles fuse box.
  3. Rear camera plugs into the camera and gets routed to the rear of the vehicle and gets mounted the same way with the included 3M double-sided tape.
  4. Insert the micro SD card, up to 256GB
  5. Power the camera on, format the micro SD card
  6. Run through the dash cam menu and configure the camera as desired.
  7. Understand your vehicles power system, i.e. if your accessory power turns off after a period of time or if it stays on. If it does not power down, you may want to manually stop recording your dash cam, power your camera off manually to prevent draining your car battery over time.

Conclusion

I’m a big fan of the Rexing products to begin with. The mobile phone app alone makes the product worth it to me which further simplifies the function of giving you the ability to quickly download video clips when needed.

The usability is straight forward and the company literally includes everything you need for a simple installation, minus the micro SD card. The 256GB card that I purchased from Amazon was $36. Not too painful at all. Overall for a 3-channel dash cam, I recommend this product at the price point it is offered.
